I recently had the privilege of staying with our students in Paradise English dormitory and I was pleasantly surprised by the effort they all made to speak in English in the common areas.

Every other night the students gather together in the kitchen and share meals. I was invited to a couple of these international meals.

Language and Food

During one of these get togethers I noticed what a diverse student population we had sitting around the table.

We had students from Taiwan, Japan, Russia, Spain, France, Switzerland and some of our teachers from Canada and the Philippines and everybody speaking in English.

Language and food brought together people from many parts of the world.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”8/12″ css=”.vc_custom_1511768576216{margin-right: 5% !important;margin-left: 5% !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1520929596154{margin-right: 5% !important;}”]

Cheese fondue in the Philippines.

One night our Swiss student wanted to share the experience of eating cheese fondue with the rest of the students. Brainstorming on how we could keep the cheese warm at the table we decided to try using a rice cooker, and to our excitement it worked like a charm.

I will take away some very funny and some very happy memories of my brief stay in the Paradise English dormitory.

At Paradise English it’s not only about learning and improving ones English skills but also about learning about different cultures, we can all take away something from our interactions with one another.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3/12″ css=”.vc_custom_1511771250788{margin-right: 5% !important;margin-left: 5% !important;}”][vc_gallery interval=”5″ images=”8022,8030″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”8/12″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1520929816501{margin-right: 5% !important;}”]Follow our blog and FB page to get more English learning tips.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/12″][vc_facebook][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
