This week we will discuss food.

Food is always a great topic and of course is very important to us all.
So another way to use a popular subject to help you improve your English skills and learn English fast and tasty…

This week we will imagine we are inviting some friends to dinner.

It doesn’t matter if you can cook or not as this is an imaginary situation.

You will put together the very best dinner you can.

To start with you might want something to snack on, because when your guests arrive they might like to have some finger foods.

In the UK we call snacks, finger foods as well. This might include chips

savoury foods, crunchy, something you can pick at.
What do you have in your country that people might enjoy snacking on, for example, savoury biscuits, spring rolls, can you think of anything else ?

Then drinks . . .
What kind of drinks will you offer ?

Then your guests will sit down for dinner.
What ingredients would you use for the main course ?
What kind of dish would  you make ?

After the main course is the second course which in England we call ‘Sweet’
This might include a variety of fruit, cakes, ice cream but in your country, what do people like after the main course ?

Try putting this all together and write down your ideas in English. Do you have an English speaking friend who could tell you if it looks inviting ?

At Paradise English we explore many topics and we always find that food is a popular way to practice English skills.

If you put together a menu, perhaps you could send it to me and I will check it out and tell you what I think.

Good luck !
