English School in the Philippines Organised Sports Day at Ati Village

by Lee

Recently the Paradise English teachers and students visited the Ati village in Caticlan, Panay Island to hold a sports day with the children.

The Ati people were the first people to call Panay Island home around 25, 000 years ago.

Preparation

There was lots of preparation prior to the sports day, which included Zumba dance practise taught by our lovely student Sharon, making 100 medals for the winners of each activity, preparing for all the games, poster making preparation and lots more.

Go go go go…

We met early on Saturday morning ready to take the boat across to the mainland. Upon arriving we were greeted with lots of big smiles from all the children, 150 children that is. The Ati village is situated in a very peaceful location with a lovely large grassy area, which was just perfect for our sports day.

Action!

Our sports day included zumba dance lessons, relay races, and a Dodgeball tournament.  For those children who felt more creative we had a poster making corner lead by the lovely Elle.

We ended the sports day with some delicious food cooked by Chef Nicko and Chocolate brownies provided by our friends at Nonies Boracay

Laughs, Hugs and Fun

The sports day was a great success with lots of laughs, hugs from the children and a wonderful day out in the fresh air and sunshine.

We can’t wait for the next event!
